St John's Church, Troedyrhiw

Built in Troedyrhiw in 1850, partly at the expense of Anthony Hill, the iron master of Plymouth Ironworks, St John’s was chapel of ease to Merthyr Tydfil. It then became the Pentrebach parish church by 1860. The church contributes to the work of the Merthyr Cynon Food Bank. It has welcomed local schoolchildren to learn about its history and took part in the Churches Unlocked Festival in 2022. This included a Heritage Day, a history talk, a concert and a summer fete.
